I was appalled (though not surprised) when I learned Sunday that Senate Dems intend to help Republicans fund the government through the election, with one minimal concession that has nothing to do with election subversion or ongoing Trump theft of federal dollars from blue states. And I remain so.

If the leaders of the federal government are blatantly, wildly corrupt, everybody else looks at that and goes “so why should I follow the rules of they don’t?”

See, courts and bar examiners could at least plan ahead for contingencies like this, knowing how vital passing the bar is for most takers' employment and how every other part of the schedule after graduation basically revolves around it. The fact that they don't adequately plan is really insulting.

If your coworker gets divorced and reverts to their prior name, it’s unprofessional not to honor that. Your personal views don’t enter in. If your coworker goes through a religious conversion that involves changing their name and you don’t honor that — again, unprofessional! How’s this different?

Look, if it is a genuinely honest error, most people I know, including myself, aren't going to make a fuss beyond maybe a gentle clarification first time. If people wilfully misgender trans and non-binary individuals though they absolutely should face misconduct proceedings.
