Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.
It brings to mind a senior general who, after CIA analysts outlined the potential consequences of US intervention in Somalia, responded: ‘Don’t worry—we know Asia well.’

1/ The world's songbirds sing in just 8 basic sounds. And where a bird lives decides which ones it uses. My first PhD paper is out now in @science.org (www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aee6239) Here is what we found:
This Institute for Family Studies drivel is so blatantly sexist that my eyes might roll out of my head. Key gems listed below: 1/

All Protocol Observed Welcome to Issue 245 of The Continent. What happens when a liberation movement delays succession for too long? Muhoozi Kainerugaba is more than an Uganda's chief internet provocateur and the president’s son. He's the heir apparent, maybe. bit.ly/245_TC
🎉 Happy to share a new publication co-authored with Ben Wilson and @mjwdemography.bsky.social on child mortality (ages 0-14) among children of immigrants in Sweden. www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

Many have opinions about #migration, but too few people know what migration is. So our research group on migration & #health decided to record a few videos that you can share or use for #teaching purposes or otherwise. Starting with the very definition of migration: youtu.be/PYWvU_XR6o4?...
what is migration?

A few months ago, Giacomo Lanfiuti Baldi @giacomolanfiuti.bsky.social joined our team as a post-doc researcher in the TEMPUR project (ClimaTE change-related Mortality in different Population groups in URbanized Belgium) #MeetDEMOmembers
I submitted a project to FNRS to get a post-doc to work with me. Will advertise here if and when I get the funding💸 . Wish me luck! 🤞🏼
Despite limitations (data remains national, indicator choices matter…), combining relational approach and SEM open new avenues: sub-national power analysis, combining trade, migration and information matrices... Interested? Get in touch! #EPC2026 #GlobalHealth #trade #mortality
