So much of Winnipeg is like "we opened this super cool thing, it's open exclusively during regular work hours in downtown Winnipeg." Feels like if you don't work downtown 9-5, most cool stuff in the city just.. isn't for you.

I’m intrigued by the recent resurgence of the ‘Long Covid is not real’ nonsense we saw back in 20/21. The refusal to learn is one thing, but the dismissal of reality is another. Long Covid is too painful, too common & too present in many people’s lives to be denied. The story is hard to rewrite.

Generative AI psychosis and delusion is a real thing, as is the degradation of analytical skills. This increasingly makes conversations difficult with those who have "converted" to using it. Along with the clickbait-ification of everything and the adoption of predatory logarithms. Stay vigilant.

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

ny times op ed tomorrow: sure, the city has experienced the lowest crime rate in history under mamdani's democratic socialist leadership. but are the lives saved worth the loss of support from republicans on long island?

I do not understand why people go to the gym just to sit on their phones, pick up weight they can't put down safely and just make as much noise as possible. Is it an attention seeking thing?
