Democracy serves those who serve it. The greatest, most complicated and important process humans have devised requires active participation, constant oversight, and continuous improvement. We own the specs. We are the control plan. #4LIGHTS

Elsewhere, David Ellison spent like $50 billion of his dad's money to turn WB-Paramount into the world's biggest lean-R media conglomerate and now the whole country lurched D *and* his dad's money is all tied up in AI companies and data centers that are under threat from angry voters and Dem AGs.

All this talk of "getting even" or payback or whatever. It's not "getting even". It's enforcing the law. Say that. Correct that. Don't fall into that trap. There's absolutely no reason to.

I am so fucking tired of "seeking justice" being framed as "getting even." Arresting and/or impeaching people who are legitimately guilty of actual crimes is not revenge. It is justice. Innocent people should be released from detention and guilty people should be in prison. Again, that is JUSTICE.

Don’t allow Republicans and media to set the narrative with their framing and word choices. Push back every time. Congressional oversight and investigations are not about RETRIBUTION, they are about ACCOUNTABILITY. You were elected to hold them accountable, never forget it.

I definitely want @peggyflanagan.bsky.social to push for replacing Schumer snd Matt Little to support an alternative to Jeffries. No question, the time is now to move forward, fast. Frankly, IDGAF if some "moderates" are uncomfortable. Most have no idea the threats we still face for generations.

call your newly elected house members! call your newly elected senate members, and tell them you are so thrilled to be their constituents and they need to remove hakeem jeffries and chuck schumer from dem leadership

When you hear Jeffries say that accountability isn’t what the people want, remember that elon tried v hard to buy our government. elon wants to use a Texas state park as wasteland for his test launches, and he knew that Paxton would let him. This was a near-miss and accountability must happen.

I was frothing over Biden’s total failure to put a muzzle and a chain on Elon Musk in 2023: we must NOT miss this opportunity, and we need to make this crystal clear to all of our reps.

This is a generational shift--both of our sons feel it. Clarity of message and steadfastness of purpose. 24yr cited AES in Michigan, Talarico in Texas, and Ossoff in Georgia in particular as inspirational among his friends. He's also ready for Schumer and Jeffries to shut up.

Some big consequences of Dem rout: *Dems cracked the code on winning the South *Ohio/Iowa back to swing state status *Democratic Party reborn *JD Vance bet on MAGA's cultural ascendance in ruins On the pod, @mjtoma.bsky.social and I take you through all of this: newrepublic.com/article/2175...

This is actually not even a little bit what we want. We want to divide the republicans from fucking power and get them the fuck away from the minorities and marginalized groups they have been massacring. We don’t want to work together with that shit. This is an anti-GOP mandate.

Barack Obama@barackobama.bsky.social · yesterday

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.

I said this on @nativelandpod.bsky.social but I'll repeat it here: A dangerous narrative is going to be "the GOP gerrymandering didn't work." NO. It worked GREAT. We just OVERCAME it. But we'd have even MORE seats, and different candidates could have won those seats, without the gerryamndering.

Democrats *gain* full control of: —Minnesota —Pennsylvania —Wisconsin —likely Arizona —likely Michigan —prob Alaska (but early) (And came shockingly close in NC & GA.) (Maybe Nevada? We have nothing.) They break GOP trifectas in: —Georgia —Iowa —New Hampshire —Ohio —Texas
