The conflation of wealth and intelligence is so fundamentally foolish and demonstrated to be false in so many places and ways, it’s always amazing to me when someone trots it out. I think it’s pretty definitively clear that extreme wealth corresponds to psychopathy, not intelligence.

Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.

Saw this amazing video about Karl Marx's Theory Of Alienation, in capitalism, and I thought I'd share it here. It's important that working class people understand this theory. Everything the capitalist ruling class does, they do for a reason. And it's ALWAYS only for profit, power, and exploitation.

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

It's important to separate what you like doing from what you like the *idea* of doing. Maybe you like the idea of texture painting but the process itself doesn't captivate you. Instead you find yourself enjoying what you didn't expect, such as sculpting or rigging. Listen to that call keenly.

Think of all the artists who just post commissions. That's all they ever have time for. You don't know what they like or who their OCs are because they're always working. throw $$ at artists to draw their own shit, please. Like, genuinely, please.

Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

I've been teaching art for years. What holds you back isn't your inability to learn theory. It's a lack of: - Clarity of your goal & WHY you want it - Belief in yourself - A simplified roadmap - More action, less overthinking - More objective analysis of your mistakes

Share this far and wide! Being the one to write up the contract gives you control. Smaller clients don't often know what copyright to ask for & artists end up doing work for hire jobs just because that's the template the client happened to download. Having a good contract is good for everyone!
