USA explicitly targeted people, civilians, & city per se when attacking Hiroshima w/nuclear weapons. Public & gov efforts to cast Hiroshima as primarily, and selected as, a military target were justifications & PR. Targeting people means you destroy stuff near them like hospitals.

There were 76,000 buildings in Hiroshima at the time of the attack: 70,000 (92 percent) were damaged or destroyed, 48,000 of them (63 percent) completely. As a Japanese assessment later reported, “It is no exaggeration to say that the whole city was ruined instantaneously.”

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.

really funny how stories told here it seems companies reporting high AI workflow are probably cooked stats from being lied to by their employees as they keep doing work as usual without it but it's also alarming bc it gives AI the veneer of competency. AI can't stop stealing credit from human labor

Also you can kill someone by dooring and then only get a ticket for something completely unrelated. But you can go to jail for smashing a car window in protest of our awful premier. Our laws protect the wealthy, the powerful, and who gives a sh$t if a person on a bike gets killed.
