I see everyone has decided not to click the video and listen to the question that was asked, which was “what is the Democratic agenda BEYOND ACCOUNTABILITY” (emphasis mine). As in, we know your candidates are promising oversight and investigations, but what are policy issues beyond that.

What @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social told me the House agenda will be next year if Democrats win —Reverse Trump’s Medicaid cuts —Extend expired ACA tax credits —Restore Congress’s authority on tariffs —“Decisively” end the Iran war Beyond that: “We’ve established five working groups on affordability”

I've seen Richy getting a ridiculous amount of hate on the other site today and it makes me incredibly sad. I think he's been treated awfully in this situation and while I recognize reasonable people may disagree, I think Spurs fans need to get a grip. He's clearly getting scapegoated by the club.

Richarlison has released a very strong statement amid Spurs' transfer talks for him with Everton. www.football.london/tottenham-ho...

In terms of people who would otherwise have lived dying there’s a case for it being the worst thing any leader has done this century, easily one of the worst, but people usually on about Amerikkka are often silent because it is something good the US was doing that stopped in the worst possible way

Objecting to the destruction of USAID is a pretty clean litmus test for being a serious person and not evil a surprising number of otherwise bad people pass this test, and a shocking number of people who pretend to care do not

I think people also don’t conceptualize what that soft power was used for. I think the assumption was that it was like “give us your natural resources” (no, that’s Trump/VZ). More often, it was “we’re concerned about the new law in your parliament that would make it easier to jail journalists.”

Faine Greenwood@faineg.bsky.social · 5d ago

So sure, USAID was a tool of US soft power and political influence, and also, I sometimes get the sense that people saying this don’t quite comprehend the torrent of death, horror, and pain that is currently unfolding from the genuinely evil decision to suddenly destroy it.

I think Democrats may need to start explicitly threatening the people cutting corrupt deals with the Trump Administration. In essence, you can do this, but know that the full investigative powers of the federal government are coming for you in exactly two years. And we will find something.

I haven’t dipped a toe into this discourse because I frankly don’t think Twitch streamers are worth talking about, but the explosion of the Influencer Industrial Complex in politics has been a complete disaster on both sides of the aisle. These people should not be threatening US Senators.

Still curious about why the whole Hondurasgate scandal never made it into American papers (beyond Washington Monthly IIRC), especially after Petro just got voted out in Colombia. Presumably for lack of proof, but it got into El Pais! And then you read about this and the mysterious boat attacks...

The Pentagon has been promising more military operations on land in Latin America and building and hyping its counter cartel coalition. This past week in Ecuador gave a glimpse into what the plan looks like. New from me @taskandpurpose.com taskandpurpose.com/news/us-ecua...

Miller helped carry wounded sailors to safety aboard the West Virginia. He then hopped on a AA gun and despite no training at all shot down at least one plane despite being under constant attack. He was later killed action aboard the USS Liscome Bay during Operation Galvanic

""As we have seen, new voices make comfortable institutions less comfortable—and often, that is exactly what those institutions need. I see the primary between Congressman Stephen Lynch and Patrick Roath as a natural extension of this conversation." ajustquincy.substack.com/p/im-voting-...

I’m voting for Patrick Roath

Roath has an impressive resume and platform, but my reasoning will have a more familiar ring to AJQ readers.
