Laughs in trans having seen this movie. None of that matters Dr Burnett, if they want it banned / restricted they will just make up a nonsense review Ala Cass, and if you’re sat there thinking well Cass was independent etc then oh boy get ready. They’ve run this blueprint before.

Only just found out about this For the record, you don't get multiple genetic markers and one of the most effective medications known to science with 'social constructs' Channel 4, this is, in scientific parlance, an absolute fu*king disgrace that will genuinely endanger lives #c4 #ADHD

New Channel 4 documentary, The Great ADHD Myth?, seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL: we're sorry. we listened. we made an error when we listed the westboro baptist church as a hate group. we'd like to especially apologise to fred phelps for suggesting he was homophobic. we're sorry. and maybe god really does hate fags. we're sorry. we listened. we're sorry

What I want for trans + people in the UK. The puberty blocker ban lifted. The toilet ban scrapped. Supreme Court ruling overtuned/made ineffective. An informed consent model for gender affirming care. Self ID. Non-Binary people legaly recognised. No trans + censorship in schools.

Operator: Centrist Emergency Services; what's your emergency please? Trans person: Help! The far-right are trying to burn down my house! Operator: Yes, we're aware of the situation, but I'm afraid we can't spare any officers at the moment.

The whole thing with FWS has me thinking back to something that happened to me many years ago at a hospital I worked at, and that is the nature of "objective based thinking". "Why are we doing this?" "What is our objective?"

The biggest difficulty for trans rights – the general public seems to believe the new guidance makes it possible to exclude eg trans women from women's services in some circumstances. No. This was the previous position. The current guidance requires their exclusion, always, regardless of context.

a related element which is worrying me too is that Kemi Badenoch is now insisting that all Tory candidates must support leaving the ECHR, and oppose net zero. This is actually really really worrying for everyone left or right - because it only drags Westminster overall further to the right

What Féile an Phobail row has shown is that women’s rights are at risk — just not from a tiny trans minority

I’ve thought long and hard about commenting on the controversy over the cancellation of the Women’s Rights Network (WRN) event at Féile an Phobail — not because I don’t have an opinion, but because it is a debate that attracts the most toxic elements.

WRN NI was not a group I was familiar with beforehand, so I did some research.

No speakers were listed in the Féile programme for the planned event, which in itself is odd as there are for almost every other of the 90-plus debates and discussions.

The group has since announced who its speakers were to be in a series of online posts.

My research took me down quite the rabbit hole — a who’s who of the anti-trans movement not just on this island but Europe-wide.

I don’t pretend to understand their motivation.

In fact, I remain baffled as to why in one of the most dangerous places for women to live in Europe, the group — which has spoken out about femicide before — is obsessing about a small minority instead of the actual dangers we face from domestic violence and femicide.

I have worked for decades covering violence against women and girls in all the distressing forms that takes.

I know the names of every woman and child murdered in Northern Ireland in the last 10 years without even having to look them up.

Not a single one was caused by a trans woman — I checked the list twice just to be sure.

None of them were murdered in a public toilet either, which having looked at the online posts of WRN and their many affiliates, is apparently the most dangerous place on earth for women, with trans predators lurking in every cubicle.

Apart from the absurdity of much of the group’s argument regarding the perceived dangers of trans women, the claim that women are being silenced by Féile is the most disingenuous of them all.
