The EHRC trans bathroom ban comes into force today. This is a discriminatory measure which will exclude many trans individuals from public spaces. It doesn't provide "clarity" or "protect people". If anything, it will increase assaults and against trans individuals and non-conforming cis women.

I think it's good Rachel has said something but I don't think our (the Green Party's) response has been adequate to this issue in general and today specifically. I suggest that Party comms platforms some of our trans members to talk about this? Maybe one or two of our trans councillors.

Today is 5 August 2026, a day of shame for the UK and the UK Labour Party in particular. This is the day the UK government brings into force the UK Equality and Human Rights Commission’s new guidance on the provision of services. translucent.org.uk/the-labour-p...

"The Labour government has made a choice, one rooted in the patriarchy, to further police women’s bodies and exclude people who do not conform to arbitrary standards of femininity. ..we reject their Code of Practice and the colonial, misogynistic, sexist, and transphobic assumptions they employ" ✊🏼

The bar may have been on the floor, but this Labour government has still managed to crawl beneath it Labour's dangerous Code of Practice cements its place as the most misogynistic administration women in the UK have had to endure in a generation #DoNotComply

The controversial new EHRC Code of Practice comes into force today. Feminist Greens remain firmly opposed to this discriminatory guidance that will further marginalise trans, non-binary, and intersex people, as well as harming all women and girls. Read our full statement:

THREAD 🧵🧵🧵🧵 Two of the main lies in the Cass Review used to justify the puberty-blocker ban; 1. The lie that puberty-blockers have a long-term negative effect on bone density. 2. The lie that puberty-blockers have a negative effect on cognitive ability. Both have been shown to be false; 1/4

REMEMBER The guidance coming into effect today doesn't dictate what you're allowed to do as an individual. It for service providers and business owners. Do not cower in fear, do not reduce yourself, do not isolate, that is one of the intended effects.
