Ex Totter, now tottering even more. Left wing, generally confused.

One shift on Monday, none until Friday – then a Thursday-night cancellation. That’s how zero-hours rotas can grind people into exhaustion and insecurity. Respond to this consultation and you just might help improve things ⤵️

Your response is needed: do zero-hours contracts exploit workers?

A consultation closing this Wednesday aims to end "exploitative" zero-hours contracts. But are such contracts exploitative? By design?

SCOOP: 404 Media placed a tracking device in a shipment of rare books to see which AI company was buying it. What did we find? It ended up at an Amazon facility where Amazon scans and destroys books. Yes. This is literally the logo outside the Amazon warehouse door. Read now:

Dozens of gas-burning power plants are being built across the country, solely to power data centers. These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR. We need a data center moratorium — now.

Good evening, Annie @thunderoad75.bsky.social & thank you, very belatedly on my part, I'm afraid. I'd thought for a very long time that I first started showing "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne on Sunday mornings in May 2014 but, in fact, it turns out it was Sunday, 1st June 2014!

Alan now thinks it was June but it really doesnt matter. He has brought these works by a group of working class people in the East End back into the public view and we can celebrate them and their lives and enjoy these beautiful paintings.

Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

Sick of this ideologically-illiterate, ahistorical codswallop. Feminist histories are not 'far right'. Women's struggle in trade unions is not 'far right'. Marxist, socialist, materialist feminist thinking is not 'far right'. The right exploiting stupidity of trans activism is not women's fault.

You were uninterested in what I had to say, but in all seriousness: the obvious connection is that anti-trans hate groups like FWS are saying the same things & supporting the same policies as anti-trans on the Christian Right. I see the Scottish Family Party at anti-trans rallies organised by FWS.
