I also bristle at the idea that academic freedom means you can say any ole thing without evidence. Hell, if I say the police are predatory in my research, I have to pull fifteen thousand cites, but race scientists get to call me inherently dumb because I’m Black just cause? Absolutely not.

I applaud the takedown of illegal orders, but we need a better system because the one we have can't keep up. When the courts take 7 months to do this, the bad guys still win. They're flooding the zone, knowing that even this ruling will be appealed, paused, etc. for another 7 months, then another.

Flock takes their privacy very seriously. But the ethical gray area in surveillance technology works both ways. Under no circumstances should elected officials or public servants enjoy an expectation of privacy when spending tax dollars to attend a surveillance lobbying event.
