Decided to try macOS 27 Golden Gate Beta on an M1 Mac Mini, and I was impressed. CPU/GPU benchmarks came out slightly better even than those of macOS 15 (let's not comment macOS 26 at all). What has your impression been so far? preslav.me/2026/07/29/i...

I installed the macOS 27 beta on a spare 2020 M1 Mac Mini and ran Geekbench before and after. Most scores improved, one dropped slightly.

With all due respect to Supabase. I am sure it's a great piece of software (it sits on top of Postgres, after all). Sadly, it has turned into a Mar-a-Lago for bros who want to teach you how to build software, without having written a single line of code in their lives.

With all due respect, neither the #ActivityPub, nor #ATProto will create a new Web. The Web was a happy coincidence, not something designed by committee. You cannot engineer virality. It just happens. RSS happened. ATProto is interesting from a technical perspective, but way too over-engineered.

Sad to say, decades later, I'm *sure* that the clever crontab syntax is not the right long-term solution to the problem. It's just too hard for humans to parse even with tons of experience. The non-standard attempts at adding "@hourly" and /etc/cron.hourly did solve this problem to a large extent.
Productivity doesn't matter if you're working on the wrong thing.
Thinking of MCP as “service discovery” is about the same as thinking of blockchains as “storage.” Does the job within the tight circumstances, but pretty terrible for any general-purpose use. To dissuade management and CTOs from slapping the term MCP on any API imaginable (because they will).
Ffs, no! Shape differentiation is the only thing that will save you a**, if the only thing you can see is the back side of a sign (a STOP sign, for example). This is the one place where I’d throw consistency off the boat.
