How much heartache would be saved if we routinely used cognitive interviewing/think-aloud procedures when developing instruments? We should know how respondents are interpreting instructions. Just frickin' ask people. It doesn't even need to be particularly rigorous.

In the Q&A/ discussion the topics of #OpenReviews and #PostPublication review came up, as well as options on how to make review work more visible. Especially the latter could have had more room, as views were seemingly different (e.g., @hansonmark.bsky.social ?), but alas, time ran out!

From the audience, reviewqualitycollector.org was brought in. According to them, an "initiative for improving the quality of scientific peer review by turning reviewing into a source of reputation." Certainly something to look into.
