Sweary Xennial nerd. Loves dogs and gaming. Tabletop and SF&F. Stationery magpie. Archer. Sometimes moany. Has a chronic illness. Marooned in a future I have no wish to participate in. These messages will self-destruct in a couple of months. Or whenever.

Govt planning c. 100 new data centres by early 2030s, mostly in already water stressed areas. They have no legal obligation to disclose how much water they use. Meanwhile Govt launches £75m publicity campaign to urge us to reduce water use & privatised water companies waste 19% thro leaks. Madness

That iPhone bug that suddenly makes all the clicks and whistles and alert noises REALLY FUCKING LOUD FOR NO REASON is starting to piss me off. It's been a known issue for years. Massive companies with vast resources need to sort their glitchy shit out.

Aliens could reveal themselves tomorrow and say “life is rare and you’re fucking it up, my dudes. Here’s the technology to free yourselves from destructive consumption, sickness, and fossil fuels. Here’s how to stop climate change…” and a depressing amount of humans would tell them to fuck off.

I was at a palaeontology event last weekend and the experts were unequivocal about the fact we're well into the sixth great extinction event. But this will be the first where a species caused it, is aware it's happening and failed to introduce measures that could have prevented it.

“Things are going to get worse. This is the new extinction. We are in terrible, terrible trouble and the longer we wait to do something about it, the worse it is going to get." #ClimateCrisis #ExtinctionLevelEmergency www.vox.com/2019/4/12/18...

Maybe us less young folk could make a few sacrifices for the greater good, like the younger generation still having a livable planet when they're our age. Like not driving a tank to b&q, or being able to look at a solar farm without having a tantrum, or making that village fete poster ourselves

The rancid stew of Tory budget cuts, Labour's Simply Recycling, and local Reform incompetence has come to a scummy boil today. There was so much rubbish and shit piled up in the streets we had to abandon our dog walk, get in the fucking car, and drive out of town to finish the doggo's exercise.
