The summer challenge set by my quilt guild is “your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current “democracy” in the country” I have a line of embroidery left. Then iron and start the quilting. Pretty pleased for first attempt at needle turn appliqué.

A natural colored fabric hangs from a card catalog. On it the words “do you hear the people sing?” Are appliquéd in navy cursive letters. The background is embroidered with the lyrics to ‘Killing in the Name’ by Rage Against the Machine in red letters that gradually get bolder as the lyrics move down the banner.

Ok I need to survey and see if I am just losing my mind. Has anyone found that clicking “don’t sign me up for emails” is now useless? I am the queen of opting out AND YET here I am two days later going through the unsubscribe hoops.

I joked about starting a bot style account where it posted the random things I decide to look up. I think a more interesting one would be “Reference Requests from my Family” I’m an eldest daughter with a library degree and lot of hobbies/interests. Imagine what those texts are like.

This is actually a place where those of us who have some seniority and no fucks to give can leverage their privilege. If someone posts a job to a list without salary info, I will IMMEDIATELY reply on-list to say “Before I forward this to great candidates who might be interested, what is the salary?

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time.
