I’ve seen in two culture /higher ed magazines recently the claim that the printing press engendered a crisis of authority at universities bc anyone could publish what they wanted and people could learn things without universities. This is not true.

And yeah, they're saying *Israel* but this idea that the Jews are causing a Muslim invasion of Spain is positively medieval.

I mean, this is how Spain has viewed both Muslims and Jews for centuries, even as a whole heck of a lot of tourism in Spain is driven by what the Moors built, so this feels extremely on brand all around.

Pretty niche, but I would give a lot for Filoni to do #NewJediOrder in animation. The #YuuzhanVongWar is absolutely incredible #StarWars material. So compelling, IMO. The Yuuzhan Vong are some of the most interesting villains in all of sci-fi.

I'm excited for the new Spiderman movie. I've loved every single 🕷️ movie. Unless you're #Xiennial or elder millennial, you can't imagine how excited we were for Tobey Maguire Spidey. Before then, superhero movies were terrible. But Sam Raimi was a gawd. We were SO excited & it didn't disappoint.

There still doesn't seem to be much space for ecological thinking in mainstream medicine; for a natural history rather than a laboratory mindset.

That said, while Warwick and James present us with a coherent account of the enterprise their historical actors were engaged in (they all had successful careers), I find it difficult to view the enterprise as such as a success.

It’s tiresome and pretty disappointing to see people say, “please, yes, critique the shit out of AIPAC and work against them, but don’t do it in a way that touches on centuries old, dangerous tropes” get ignored and/or argued with.

This is their focus?? The pernicious ascendency of antisemitism is literally killing people and they're focused on this exclusionary drivel! 🤦‍♂️

I have zero tolerance for people denying the Jewishness of interfaith families and patri Jews who make deep and overt decisions every day to live a Jewish life. We don't have a pope and no one has the sacred source of Jewish identity.
