AP calls a DEFEAT for Kansas Amendment 1, which would have replaced the current merit-based selection of state Supreme Court justices with partisan statewide elections. GOP wanted this change to try to overturn a ruling protecting abortion rights, but voters emphatically said no.

DDHQ called NO the winner. I get that call, and I think it's probably right, but I'd still like to confirm with SGCO EDay. SOS is reporting NO at 70-30.

The AP has called it for Ty Masterson as the GOP nominee for governor and Adam Hamilton as the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate #ksleg

A few thousand more votes in, NO still holding strong at 71-29. Still very little EDay in.

With all of the substantial vote pools reporting their early vote, we'll be in a little bit of a wait as counties do their E day counting. WyCo and JoCo are often quite slow at this, but usually JoCo will do most of it's reporting in one go.

I still want to see more E-Day vote, but if I'm a NO organizer, I'm feeling very happy right now.

With comments on the other races of note, Hamilton seems locked in to win, unless some EDay vote goes very poorly for him. Same with Masterson and Marshall. Too close to call on Corson/Holscher.

Chase County wins the award for first done. NO wins 55-45.

With around 14% of the total 2022 abortion amendment vote reported, NO is ahead 71-29. Still early vote counts. I don't think we've got E-Day votes in any county yet.

As far as I can tell, Doniphan County is the first county to have the early vote go for Yes, with 92 votes YES and 68 votes NO.

For those just joining Kansas election watch. WyCo, one of Kansas 5 most populous counties and one of the bluest, will usually be slow in reporting votes. We're also waiting DGCO, the bluest county, to report early votes.
