imo the sign of a company that is on the downswing is a failure to follow-through on obvious improvements, like how Dropbox appeared out of nowhere as a huge improvement and then basically didn't add a feature for 15 years i'm looking at you, Gmail's "dark mode" #software

a hill I will happily die on: every operating system should block input for 1-2 seconds if it *automatically* pops up a dialog or otherwise changes the UI that you are interacting with. someday a major incident will happen because this isn't already normal practice
