Telegraph today give more prominence (p7, 439 words) to Sharron Davies going after Parkrun to 'protect women' than they do to Russell Brand saying he raped a 16yo (p9, 321 words)

Digital ID isn't enough. We need officers performing a mandatory Rowling Rummage outside every public ladies' toilet, which would - protect women prepared to undergo it - provide gainful employment, especially for sex offenders - place the UK proudly at the forefront of international feminism

Sex Matters are demanding biological sex on Digital ID. Below are suggestions for when one should have to use their ID to "verify" their sex. For the avoidance of doubt – this is a call for the effective repeal of the Gender Recognition Act, in breach of our human rights obligations & EU Law.

Examples include:

joining a dating service
joining a single-sex association, such as Girlguiding or the Women’s Institute
applying for a bursary, prize or award that is only for women
joining a gym and using its ID to access male or female changing rooms
registering for sport with a national governing body or sports team, or for competitions
applying for a job in social care, policing, prisons or a single-sex service
seeking to rent in a shared house, homestay, hall of residence or dormitory
registering with a healthcare or social-care provider
registering with a single-sex service such as a rape crisis centre or women’s refuge, or being referred between such services.

"She also claims she was forced to join a conference call while giving birth and was expected to work during her maternity leave." There needs to be one final Mr Beast video where this woman gets to redact him in whatever way she wants for as long as she wants

Of course, a year ago, JK Rowling wrote a long tweet upbraiding someone else for using "she/her" for a trans woman, saying it doesn't matter how polite the "request" it's still compelled speech, but yesterday she was upbraiding her allies who were saying she shouldn't use she/her for a trans woman.

JK Rowling admitting that she won't be transphobic to you as a trans woman if you are "gentle" and "funny" and you have "female-coded energy." What on earth is "female-coded energy"? Doesn't this strongly suggest that Rowling is a conservative woman who expects women to be a certain way?

Nothing's changed. I was being honest about how I feel about an individual trans woman I know, who was a gay man pre-transition, and who I met for the first time post-transition. Objectively speaking, she has physical characteristics that make it fairly obvious she wasn't born female, but she's a gentle, funny person I've never referred to as anything other than 'she' and 'her'. I find it perfectly easy to reconcile my fond feelings towards her, and my experience of her as someone with very female-coded energy, with a belief that she hasn't literally changed sex (and incidentally, she doesn't believe she's literally changed sex, either).

A thing about the heaviest users of chatbots is that they acclimate to cloying obsequiousness. Like a billionaire and their entourage of viziers, it becomes normal to them. Any interaction that is *not* abject simpering they'll now perceive as a slap to the face, an aggressively violent outburst.

I just want to hard reboot my entire life. Or at least have a piece of it where it doesn't feel like it's always on me to be the understanding one, or the one who can't express herself because everyone else's shit is worse than mine, or the one who has to accomodate everyone else.
