the latest DF update's "tavern keepers will no longer all serve dwarves at once, causing them to die of acute alcohol poisoning" is actually a hackish patch over the real weird behavior, which is of course that dwarves always drink what's in all mugs they hold until they're empty

I feel like you can make the same argument for cloud providers. It’s risky to rely on tech corps for anything. It would probably be better if anyone under 30 knew how to set up servers on-prem.

I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this. The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all! Games don't need VO to be good! By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!
idk I’ve seen a bajillion kids movies where the kids parents die & let me tell you, having a convo with my kid about how anyone can die at any time & it doesn’t matter if they’re someone’s mom or dad is way harder than having a convo about how sometimes someone has two dads or whatever. And yet
