I know people are tired and overworked, but I feel like oftentimes they’re offloading a creative (and, on some level, rewarding) activity to free up time that they’ll ultimately spend scrolling on their phones—thereby further reducing their brains to mush. it’s a vicious cycle of meaninglessness

The conservative solution for the “male loneliness epidemic” and decentering men is to just remove women from public spaces.

Every game - EVERY. GAME. And i will say this for people that do not listen - EVERY-SINGLE-GAME Level-5 has announced has GenAI. They have said. They have shown it off proudly. They have actually made VIDEOS saying it. They did a SPEECH about it. Do not support level-5 ever again. They are dead.

A tale in two parts, told far too often for my tastes. I know they probably think nothing of the ethical, legal, and environmental concerns, so my reaction might seem mean... but at the same time I've put up "DON'T SEND ME AI GAMES" in as many places as possible and they just keep sending them.

A Steam AI disclosure.A snippet from Gmail that pops up after blocking someone. "Move to spam" is about to be clicked.

I have seen a couple posts on trpgs to play that aren't D&D (for obvious reasons) and I'm always hesitant to chime in. There is always the chance something you liked in your favorite game isn't the same in ours, for example. But hey, if you want to give BREAK!! a look I'd be happy for that!

4 adventurers from the BREAK!! RPG and a feline companion walk around a scenic path! They are definitely going somewhere.

Just to be perfectly clear with what I mean here: If you make D&D “stuff” (stat blocks, adventures, actual plays) you are actively advancing the interest of billionaires to push AI generated bullshit in the TTRPG space. I strongly ask that you stop doing that

Man, thankfully no one is playing or making stuff for this bad game run a billion dollar company that's putting AI into everything! www.geeknative.com/225567/hasbr...

Heads up streamers against Generative AI... Fading Echo's Senior Producer has an interview stating their studio uses generative AI and calls it "inevitable" and that it can be used "ethically and correctly". 🤨 I was offered a code, but declined. #FadingEcho #twitch #antiai

The key art to the game Fading EchoA quote made by Elise Marchouba, Senior Producer at Emeteria from the site EuroNews, "At my company, the motto for a while now has been ‘People won't be replaced by AI. People will be replaced by people using AI’. While that's a little tough to stomach, I do understand it. I don't want to be one of those people that stubbornly says ‘I'm not gonna do it because I don't like it’. I'm not going to oppose it because I don't understand it, but I'm not gonna love it because I'm being told to. I'm going to take a cautionary step back. I'm going to acknowledge that it's inevitable that this is going to be part of the future, but I will stand up for doing it ethically and correctly."

Fuck off. If anything is "millennial", it's those cool transparent colors our iMacs, Gameboys, and Tamagotchis came in. No fucking millennial likes the house flipper grey. Call it a millennial paint job when I can see through the exterior of a car because it's Glacier Purple like my GBA.

An image showing the colorful transparent plastic of various pieces of technology of the 90's and early 2000s, that were easily the popular choice of the millennial age bracket. Some of the tech is an iMac, Nintendo 64, Sega DreMcast, a PlayStation 2, a Gameboy color and Advance, and CD player.

No fuck off we're not calling this "Millennial grey" this shit was dictated completely by boomer retiree house flippers we absolutely had NO say in this

Millennial grey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A kitchen with beige grey floors, drab walls, brushed steel appliances, and grey granite countertops.
Grey floors and furnishings are said to appeal to Millennial tastes.
Millennial grey refers to a desaturated colour scheme that is said to appeal to the interior design sensibilities of the Millennial Generation in the early 21st century.[1] Cultural historian Kassia St. Clair attributed its widespread adoption to a desire among Millennials for "a flexible, sensible choice that will last years, hide any stains, and can be adapted to different schemes."[1] Some have diagnosed Millennial grey as a reaction to the warm hues of the late 20th century.[2]

Millennial grey is polarising, particularly when used with imitation-wood-texture sheet vinyl flooring, which many describe as depressing, soulless, or corporate.[3][4] Although attributed to Millennials, the grey colour scheme is often chosen by house flippers, vacation rental owners, or other people who do not actually live in the greyed properties.[3] Thus, the occupant of the property—Millennial or not—has little say in its colour scheme, particularly when deployed for fixtures such as flooring.[4] The greying may have been driven, in part, by a desire to prepare properties for sale in a manner thought to be least offensive to the average buyer.[5] Given the housing crises gripping many countries in the early to mid-21st century, buyers and renters may feel they have no choice but to accept a property decked in Millennial grey.[4]

To the extent that Millennial grey is said to be enjoyed by Millennials, it is also said to be loathed by Generation Z.[1][2]

Made this for my Appendix N Game Jam submission. Since the whole zine is limited to two sides of a single sheet of paper, I figured I'd also limit my illustrations to a very limited palette + a fixed line weight. The whole project was a lot of work, but it turned out better than I expected!

The cover illustration for a tri-fold Mothership adventure module, featuring a man partially frozen in ice crawling towards the viewer, his hand outstretched through the frame of the illustration. Above is the title "The Still of Touchstone Station" with a semicircular line linking three O's in the title.

working on a new project for @aftermath.site: a semi-comprehensive, regularly-updated list of every game studio that refuses to use AI. if that sounds like your studio, message me with the reason(s) why as well as basic details about what you make. DMs open and email is nathan@aftermath.site

Man YouTube Music's suggestion algorithms have gotten way dumber over the past year or two now that they're probably packing AI into its backend. I have been listening to a lot of The Megas recently, but this? This is just goofy.

After picking up Mothership during FreeRPG day, I decided to try my hand at making a small tri-fold adventure, and did a test print to check for bad cropping & make sure the text is legible. This is how it turned out. I could not have asked for a more perfect (cursed) outcome than this.

A fragment of my Mothership TTRPG tri-fold adventure test print. For some reason all of the text is garbled unicode nonsense layered over itself repeatedly. Low printer ink banding adds an extra layer of cursedness to the document.A fragment of my Mothership TTRPG tri-fold adventure test print. I just realized I've completely forgot to post about the boardgames I've been playing! This one's Metro Runner, which is 50% pick up & deliver contract fulfillment, 50% pipe dream hacking puzzles. I like it a lot more than I expected? There aren't many Cyberpunk games, and this one was fun.
