Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

Just going to say here, I think I've said this before, a 'historically accurate' version of the Odyssey is not possible because the Odyssey does not take place in a historical setting - it takes place in a fantastical pastiche of four centuries, mixed in with gods and monsters.

Somewhat a spoiler but The Odyssey is the first time ever that Christopher Nolan depicts two armies in a battle, and it's clear that he despises war (which should have been obvious from Oppenheimer and Dunkirk)

I know a lot of the focus here has been on the Dems who voted not to cut aid to Israel but I think “the majority of the caucus voted to cut aid” is a monumental sea change in Dem politics and the movement here is only going in one direction this is the most Dem support Israel will ever see again

Hits the nail on the head Prediction markets are good for quantifying the conventional wisdom, but electoral models are most successful when they buck the conventional wisdom that's out of line with data

I think the point of a model is to synthesize cold, hard data, unpolluted by conventional wisdom. Using markets can also create a feedback loop, since many gamblers are using forecasts to place their bets.

Solomon@solomonrmissouri.com · 4w agoEven though everything up to this point with Platner has been a mess for Democrats, it's good for the party (and for the country) to have a red line at credible accusations of sexual assault It should be a rule that no one, no matter how powerful, will get party support with such allegations

I have edited a lot of sexual-assault-accusation articles, and this one easily clears every veracity check: contemporaneous emails with her therapist, a boyfriend who knew, a woman she warned—all before Platner ran for office. Good on Politico for nailing it, and on Jenny Racicot for speaking up.
