Same thing goes for existing online as well. Kids no longer have the safety net of existing as a cringy yet disposal forum handle or string of anonymous imageboard posts. They're immediately shunted onto social media under a persistent persona that follows them the rest of their life.

well this kinda hit me like a ton of bricks not to "kids today" but it's fucked that so many people can't even remember existing in a world where you couldn't be clipped by some shitbag's phone video recording to get clowned on social media for. That's such a ubiquitous risk of being outside now
