We may think of a word like "bedlam" as only existing in a specific historical context, as a product of specific time and place, but that applies to all English words. The word "what" only exists as a product of specific historical events that happened in Britain, and which don't apply to Westeros.

The thing about rewatching HotD S1, is that it confirms my hatred of Daemon and constant suspicion of him using Rhaenyra to his own ends. The grooming is so obvious I don’t understand the selective amnesia people have to have in order to be attracted to him (the character, not Smith).
I love House of the Dragon because from the very beginning I've seen it as an explicitly anti-monarchist text. And while the many individuals in the Targaryen dynasty are humanized in their own ways, as good fictional characters are, they are still TEXTUALLY inbred, power-hungry mass murderers.
