I checked mine. I get a popup saying I can’t view my voter status due to my voter status, which I have to assume means they cancelled my registration. Looks like I need to re-register. And contact the Texas Secretary of State and find out why I was removed. (Not the 1st time either.)
Chad Loder@chadloder.dev · 4d agoTexas has suspended over 1.2 million voter registrations. Many valid voters in Texas have found their voter registrations were somehow canceled when they checked. Check your registration here and fix it immediately - Texas doesn't always honor provisional ballots cast on election day.
Stop fucking using genAI. Not even for a joke, not even for that oh so cutting political satire. Every time you use it, you are actively taking food out of our mouths. You are using the weapon of the enemy. We do not need it.

We won't know what we've lost until it's gone.

Work it into your contract that you do not owe them anything (work or money back) after a period of time in which no communication has come in from them. I give them a year because I'm generous, but 3-6 months is very very reasonable. You can also include a fee for past-deadline work

I know the thread might sound harsh- but most clients are incredibly accomodating with whatever delay life trows at you as long as YOU (the artist) keeps them posted. If you think something will keep you away from work for more than 2 weeks, you let the client know. Doing commissions is a JOB.

If they paid you money, you MUST communicate with them and tell them what's going on. You cannot just ghost someone for months and months after promising a quick turnaround and expect them to be happy!
