We are 90 days out from the election - it's time to dip in and contribute direct to the candidates of your choice (I recommend not contributing to any PACs) & to get behind them, volunteer if you can, and campaign for the those you choose to back.

Followers -- you hear that this election is the most momentous in your lifetime, but this one truly is. So I will be more political in my posting; leaning heavily Dem 'til Nov. I'll still be posting some "just the facts Jack" things, but if it bugs you unfollow & mark the calendar to re-follow 11/5

Statue of Lady Liberty in NY harbor coated in greenish verdigris against a cloud-hazed sky

Pressed on whether the city would hone its street-level enforcement against illegal e-motos, the mayor would only say that Wednesday’s announcement was a “first step” towards getting the vehicles off the street. Read more: nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/08/05/m...

This Morning I endorsed Adam Hamilton for the position of US Senator from Kansas, and contributed to his campaign. I'm tired of Marshall and all the crazy rant rubber room stuff he puts out from Trump. Kansas needs better, and Hamilton for Senate is the way.

It needs to be mandatory for all new data centers to supply their own green power & cooling, and not in the form of "oh, we'll had scads of jet engines off the building & suck up your residential water supply" before they get built. Any expansion permits need the same.

A year after declaring Texas the “epicenter of AI development,” Governor Greg Abbott has declared a moratorium on all new power grid connections for data centers—at least until developers provide more information.

El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

RFKJr claims Lyme disease was created by scientists, which is the closest he’s come to admitting that science exists. Meanwhile, Ötzi the Iceman, who died more than 5.3K years ago, had Lyme disease. Apparently prehistoric humans are part of the conspiracy. Get me off this timeline

So I went to vote this am and instead of the usual "I voted" sticker, they gave me one with a pumped up bald eagle flexing his arms like a stupid sports mascot. So sick unto death tired of all the overamped, theatrical patriotism we have to experience nowadays. Meanwhile we are in an unwanted war.

📌Susan Collins is voting "no" on the repulsive Blanche because she has been given political cover by Thune. Her vote doesn't matter. This isn't a heroic decision, it is pure politics, and whether anybody wants to admit it or not it's how she has survived like a parasite in that chamber for 30 years.

In 1996, Congress imposed fines on undocumented immigrants. For 30 years, the government did not enforce those laws, and they were basically irrelevant. Enter Trump, and the US government is now fining dishwashers and delivery drivers more than rich friends of the President who stole billions.

NEW: CBP is shopping for a contractor to track down people the US has deported to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala and collect unpaid immigration fines — debts that can top $1.8 million a person.

I had to code and pronounce a time of death on a respiratory therapist colleague. There's a memorial plaque for her outside the emergency department to this day. I wrote and re-wrote my will. I will never forgive these ghouls trying to rewrite history and deny our experience.

RFK Jr said these words today on national television "There were ICUs that were empty all over the country including in New York at the height (of the pandemic)" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You are a fucking idiot hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <sobs silently>

With the people’s power to effect change on the line, Missouri voters showed up to defend their rights. And in November, when abortion rights are on the ballot, they’ll do it again.

Victory!

Missouri voters protected their citizen-led ballot measure process, dealing a blow to efforts to undermine voters’ ability to take their rights into their own hands.

🚨BREAKING: Missouri voters defeated a GOP bid to limit their ability to amend the state constitution. The measure was the GOP's attempt to diminish the power of voters who’ve used citizen initiatives to expand Medicaid and protect abortion access.

Missouri voters reject ballot measure limiting their power to amend state constitution

Notably, the proposed amendment would not have affected constitutional amendments that the legislature put on the ballot. State lawmakers only wanted to make it harder to pass a voter-led measure,…
