Can’t say this works for me. There was no legally salient “finding.” There is a classified executive branch opinion which says that the executive branch is acting legally. I’ll leave you to draw the obvious conclusion.
The US military’s strikes on alleged drug boats have likely illegally killed “individuals who are not involved in narcotrafficking,” Sen. Tim Kaine told the White House, following “a careful review” of classified information he has seen so far.
Shameful: The #BrokenTimes hands David Ellison op-ed space rather than challenging his bullshit pap and propaganda about journalism with the receipts he has already delivered at CBS. That would be journalism. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/o...

So rural employment is low-key a giant GOP patronage network. Anybody who speaks out against GOP politics stays unemployed! And/or has to leave! THAT is the real secret to GOP dominance in rural areas. It's not "messaging." It's gatekeeping livelihoods.
A very serious Rural Politico once told me "Dems have to go to farmer meetings! We gotta be where the people are!" I was in fact in a farmer meeting at that very moment! So I live-texted him the meeting. They were complaining that they want indentured workers that they don't have to pay or feed.
There would be more pushback if folks left of center were more serious about outreach. But folks aren't despite the fact that our system does give disproportionate power to rural areas. But instead of taking that as the rules of the game as it exists, and actually organizing, we complain about it.
Banger thread. Absolutely criminal this women is not the state Agriculture Commissioner.
Ok so this lady says solar panels are getting built on "the most productive farmland" in her area. Which just ain't true at all. It ain't true here in NC either. Where I ALSO hear that talking point over & over again. Smells like astroturf! So let's get the dirt on solar farms & dirt ✨
Seems like this is going to persist as an endless series of random bombings and half-hearted diplomacy until a Democrat gets elected, ends it on terms that are necessarily not great for the US and gets accused of betraying America/being weak.

The reporter who blasts an air horn the next time he drops out in public should get a Pulitzer on the spot.... The picture of his eyes bugging out would be worth one too...
So many of the claims about trans athletes by the anti trans side are simply made up. This woman got caught lying about two trans athletes and was forced to pay out because of it. www.lgbtqnation.com/2026/07/an-a...

Kirralie Smith admitted in court she didn't have any evidence to back up her claim about a trans woman injuring two cis women.

Yup. Forcing endogenous puberty is very much making a decision. No one would say "Well, let's hold off on that cancer treatment. Maybe it'll clear up on its own."
i think it's important for people to remember that puberty blockers *were* the "moderate, compromise" position.
Hey so turns out discovering why we used to have all those food safety regulations in the first place is not all that much fun
Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him
Again, what right wing Republicans and Democrats call "socialism" is the sort of regulated capitalism that was consensus for much of the 20th century. They pretend it's anti-market when really it's only anti-oligarchy

Andrew Tate's lawyer is committed to threatening us with a better world "AOC will be the next President without the Manosphere and Andrew Tate." "It's Tate today, it's Trump tomorrow, it's Elon next. then it's you" ...then it's me pouring a large gin and tonic to celebrate, mate! #OhHappyDay
It's been a HUGE week in diarrhea news! Between an FDA false positive, the Taylor Farms lawyer lyin' about the false positive, & CDC is slow because DOGE fired too many of the poop nerds who worked there? It's been one of the juiciest weeks in diarrhea history. Time for a deep dive 🏊

Fantastic article on the decline of cookware and the money behind it. New ain’t necessarily better.
The story of a trans girl who tried to fight Idaho's anti-trans laws, and died to suicide earlier this year, is only now coming to light. Our hearts are broken, but we need to tell these stories and mourn our dead, because the media is barely bothering to look for the victims of trans genocide.

They’re having a completely normal one over at the National Review this weekend
Disturbing to see such a worldwide trend down, though I suppose some of that is due to the global reach of US/UK. 😔
This is actually CRAZY work - we are more anti trans than several countries including the US, which are arguably not even liberal democracies
Extremely poignant essay on the loss of innocence. This sweet, bitter, beautiful, ugly world breaks us all, on some level, in some way. 😢😢
Magdalene Visaggio was once in seminary, training to become a Catholic priest. Now she's a snarky online trans girl like the rest of us. In a challenging new essay for Assigned, she writes about the toll being hated for who she is has taken on her psyche. assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...
I found this essay by @magsvisaggio.com personally challenging in the best way. Mags' anger and hatred of conservatives is very raw, in a way I don't quite share. I think that's partly because I was never as good as Mags. I've never struggled to understand the joy some people take in sadism.

This government would ban George from the Famous Five.
I find it frankly bizarre that the government should be so afraid of children wearing clothing and using names that might not align with the gender they were assigned at birth. you want me to get a doctor’s note so my daughter can wear trousers? I’m sorry but that’s just extremely weird
Andy Beshear should just steal mcconnell's senate seat the way mcconnell stole Obama's Supreme Court seat.
