I think this is very true, and you can extend it a little -- you should never have an emotional relationship with a *company*. You have relationships with *people*, some of whom might work for the company! But the whole point is a company is that the people can be swapped out.

Gonna say something a little Marxist here, but it's something I believe: the relationship between employee and employer is inherently adversarial. That doesn't mean it must be unpleasant or impolite, but these two entities have different objectives that are at odds with each other.

I’m astonished by the ability of my fellow humans to forget the events we all just lived through. Folks remember the masks and the remote school. The million US dead are rarely mentioned. Folks, we lived through a plague.

And doing the bidding of a New York City trust fund baby with the softest hands of any man alive, who has been squatting on golden toilets all his life and wouldn't know how to start a chainsaw or use a self-checkout register at a grocery store if his life depended on it. Common folks just like you!
