The idea of “visibility” isn’t something neutral that society gets an opinion on. It’s a person living as they actually are, something no one else gets to define for them. Calling it a mistake isn’t contrarian, it’s depraved

Those who are under their mid-40s may not remember that Slate was originally conceived as a contrarian endeavor. Setting aside whether that was ever useful, this is a really disgusting example of that genre.

Rashida Tlaib said something about these yesterday, but I haven’t heard any other politicians talking about this. It’s such a straightforward miscarriage of justice - the charges are bogus and the sentences intended to stifle opposition to the govt - that if they don’t call this out, what will they?

I wrote about the Prairieland defendants and the urgency of opposing the extreme sentences handed down on Tuesday. And they likely will not be the last.

it took decades of cultivated belligerence and stupidity to get to this point—a fox new hosts and a millionaire contractor who now runs the domestic security state, agreeing that loyalist mobs terrorizing belfast just want to be irish

Incredible! Scientists receive a rare standing ovation after announcing that a new treatment can double the survival time for pancreatic cancer, the deadliest cancer which was once considered “undruggable.” When we fund and support science, we can achieve anything! (Video: Dr. Wish Dhillon)

They came up to him with tears in their eyes and said “Sir, you’ve just passed our dementia screening test, the only person ever to do so. You are the only person in the world who doesn’t have dementia”

Imagine a doctor acting like this in real life toward you. Just locking eyes and saying "You are the healthiest and smartest person I've ever seen. I truly can't believe it. I've never seen it both in the same person like this before," in the most serious doctor voice imaginable without blinking.

Trump: "Anybody running for President or VP should be forced to take a Cognitive Examination! By doing so, we wouldn’t be surprised at people like Barack 'Hussein' Obama, or Sleepy Joe Biden, getting 'ELECTED.' I took the Exam three times during my ('THREE!') Terms as President"

Trump: "Anybody running for President or Vice President should be forced to take a Cognitive Examination prior to entering the Race! By doing so, we wouldn’t be surprised at people like Barack 'Hussein' Obama, or Sleepy Joe Biden, getting 'ELECTED.' Our Country would be a much better place! I took the Exam three times during my ('THREE!') Terms as President, and ACED IT ALL THREE TIMES — An Achievement that, even on a single Exam, according to the Doctors, has rarely been done before! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

How bleak is it that the *best case scenario* is that he is just engaging in his most ambitious bit of market manipulation yet and will call it off ("we have reached a great deal, a tremendous deal, to save Iran") at 4:30 pm after shorting everything and watching the market tank

for the youths who werent around for the iraq installment - dont believe anything the govt says about progress - no the democrats dont have to say getting rid of the baddie was good and therefore they have to support the war - the war needs to be ended - the media is not your ally and they love war

Doesn't matter how they enter the right wing ecosystem - whether it's through red pills or worrying about "gender ideology" - eventually they're raving about race and IQ and how they have to kill inferior cultures to save the west

NEW from @justinrohrlich.bsky.social: “I’m not surprised this happened,” Ilhan Omar attacker Anthony Kazmierczak’s brother said. “Not at all. Unfortunately, he and my mother are both right-wing extremists.” "In my mind, he’s a piece of s**t," he added. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

As it happens, Alex Pretti apparently had a carry permit. THAT DOESN'T MATTER, because he *didn't draw a gun.* Even had he possessed an illegal gun, this would still be murder. His alleged gun is a DHS red herring; it doesn't matter. We do not need to debate it one way or other.

Wise words from WEB DuBois to gird us today: "It would be shame and cowardice to surrender this glorious land and its opportunities for civilization and humanity to the thugs and lynchers, the mobs and profiteers, the monopolists & gamblers who today choke its soul and steal its resources."

Trump & Vance’s agents saw tens of thousands of people — of all ages & races — come out *in below zero temperatures* to protest their tax-funded violence, their murder of their neighbor. And the very next day, they executed another one. What can Americans conclude from this?

I’ve hated the word hallucination for these kinds of errors since I first heard it. It isn’t hallucinating because it doesn’t have a brain, and the errors themselves are less like hallucinations and more like confabulations - plausible-sounding answers made up on the spot to fill in gaps.

It can't hallucinate. It can't lie. It can't apologize. It is a machine that works the way that it was designed to work BY PEOPLE.

An AI chatbot does not have PERSONHOOD. It has no agency. It cannot meaningfully apologise. It cannot speak on behalf of another. It cannot speak for itself; it has no self. Stop asking it for quotes for articles. Stop printing its quotes.
