when i think about eating it feels like a chore. i rarely actually feel hungry. i just can't be arsed with it. the cooking and the chewing and the digesting. what's the fucking point right? then when i finally force myself to eat something it's amazing, and there's no stopping me.

All the people who are anti-Chadley or want to mute Chadley, I have one question: If Chadley disappeared tomorrow, could you still get through Final Fantasy VII without him or the Chadley menu? Imagine Chadley was suddenly banned. Would you actually be willing to give him up?

finished reading the first of the star trek destiny trilogy last night. was quite good. i like how enterprise era characters were in it, because that show is better than a lot of people remember. first time reading a star trek book, i will read more if they're like this.

i have to admit that despite my cynicism i do think it's a shame that there isn't a question time special for the clacton by election. would need to be among candidates who have a chance, because there are a few wrong uns on the ballot paper besides the guy who triggered it.

Reminder that the Tories believe any non-British person who commits more than a minor parking or traffic offence should be automatically deported. They “believe in second chances”, apparently, but only for literal Nazis.

The government’s transphobic code of practice is now up and running. But we’re not going to stand still and take it, we're supporting a legal challenge led by a trans person and a trans inclusive organisation. But we can only do this together. Will you join us?👇 goodlaw.social/ldco

"Before the ruling any challenges had been gentle, like ‘oh by the way this is the ladies’,” she was quoted as saying, “and people were embarrassed or apologetic when I said ‘it’s okay I’m a girl’, but now it’s aggressive and horrible.”

The EHRC's Code of Practice has been condemned as a "system of segregation", "impractical and inhumane", and even "genocidal in nature" It comes into force today

so, The Thing I'm Working On depends on keys assigned to entries for selection. but then i added a search, so obviously key selection had to be disabled if search was focused... or does it? i made a pending selection if a character in the search corresponds to a key that has been assigned.

"The Equality Act always discriminated against trans people, we just read it wrong for fifteen years" is right up there with the standards of jurisprudence we're coming to expect from the Anglosphere these days.

today the govt rolls back trans rights and brings in an actual bathroom ban. this is the sort of thing that used to horrify liberals when it was some maga senator. let's not be ok with it just because a lot of us voted to get them in. (i mean, i didn't, but i'm not gonna be a dick about that now)

The EHRC code of practice comes in today, bringing in to the UK the most draconian regime for single sex spaces targeting trans people for a liberal democracy in the industrialised, under what is our nominally left of centre governing party.

It’s disgusting for the Conservatives to ask Jewish groups to meet their ex-neo-Nazi candidate, presumably in the hope he will charm them and they’ll offer their blessing. They should not expect Jewish people to sanitise this appalling choice. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Tories offer Jewish groups meeting with ex neo-Nazi activist candidate

Joshua Bonehill-Paine was jailed over neo-Nazi activism, but has been selected to stand in a new Somerset Council seat in 2027.

i'm not saying that a former neo nazi can't be rehabilitated, but part of rehabilitation means taking responsibility for your actions and accepting that there are some things that are no longer an option for you. forcing thousands of constituents to trust you is a perfect example of that.

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"
