Are cis people paying attention to what Andy Burnham is doing to trans people or are you still too excited over his message of 'hope'? Like, today. Do you see what has happened *today*?

I mean, what exactly do you do when you're part of a community that the government only sees as a problem to be solved, rather than human beings worthy of compassion. We never asked to be born like this. I hate that I was born with Dysphoria and I wish I'd never experienced this horrible condition.
This policy by the NHS will see trans people put directly at risk. There are few words for a policy that will see: - Trans people self excluding from healthcare - Trans people put in dangerous situations on the wrong ward Will it really ever get better?? Can people just leave us alone for once??
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... I can't really describe how evil and cruel this is. I can't really describe how this is one of the most awful policies I've ever heard, and how much it will hurt people. I don't even really have the words.
Trans people should use hospital spaces according to biological sex, NHS England says
New guidance says trans patients should be cared for on single-sex hospital wards or bays that align with their biological sex.

Alongside health policy colleagues from @transactualuk.bsky.social, we are still analysing the full NHS England guidance issued today and its implication for patients and HCPs. We have issued an initial joint response here: www.transsolidarityalliance.com/post/joint-s...
I'm almost certainly biased but they could've put four cats
Bank of England reveals the four animals to feature on banknotes
You probably think this is a touch of hyperbole. If you do, that just tells me not only are you not paying attention, you are actively ignoring all the trans people this has happened to. This is life in the UK as a trans person in 2026.
Now it's gone way beyond that - if I use a female toilet in the workplace I risk being drawn into a public facing employment tribunal, where I'll be hounded by the press have people on the BBC payroll call me a rapist, and have a billionaire lawsuit funded against me that I will lose
As someone who knocked on a fair number of doors in HSP, albeit for the Lib Dems, this doesn't come as a massive shock to me.
Clear expectation now that Labour are heading for a comfortable win in Holborn and St Pancras

D'ya think the fraction of GPEW members that pushed this through will ever think that when basically everyone outside their bubble is calling them out, including the European greens, maybe they're the problem? (And I do mean fraction, the vast majority of green members I know are lovely people.)
Our statement on the recent Green Party of England and Wales motion 'Zionism is Racism'. europeangreens.eu/news/egp-pos...
Cis guy walks into a women's locker room and immediately proceeds to sexually assault women. JK Rowling: this is trans people's fault.
Agreed. Many green party members are there because they are passionate environmentalists - they would be at home with the party of 🌎Climate & Nature Bill ☀️Sunshine Bill 🦦UNESCO Chalk Streams Bill And a party where our support for Palestine, alongside a secure Israel has been unwavering 🕊️
Tim Farron already welcoming them 👍
The motion passed at Green Party Conf' actively undermines a 2-state solution, and does not address the rising threats of Islamophobia and Antisemitism here in the UK. This is a divisive motion that pours fuel on the fire of tensions in the UK, and will leave many British Jews feeling less safe.
Excellent statement by the party on this. We must build a longstanding peace, and the only way we do that is with a two state solution. Any other idea will not protect Palestinians, and it will continue to make our Jewish communities feel unsafe and unwelcome. We must all do better.

Fundamentally a two-state solution based on 67' borders is the ONLY way that peace can be guaranteed in the region. Anything else is a fantasy that will only cause further and further harm to Palestinians. Whether it's ideal or not is irrelevant, because it's the only possible way.

Indeed - we have fought for this for years now, every lever pulled has inched us forward and it is within touching distance. Let’s get this over the line
Yes. The decision to set up a huge APPG, Sarah Olney’s 10-minute rule bill in December 2024, the consistent op-eds, the focus on calling for a “commission”, the parliamentary debates, the pro-reform amendment to the Representation of the People Bill – all helped make Burnham’s commitment possible
I listened to Ed Davey on the Today programme this morning, and frankly, I think he missed the point. The idea that we're keeping the triple lock to help millennials is at best for the birds, and at worst downright insulting. I say that as a millennial.
Most millennials don’t think there will be a state pension when they retire so this isn’t being done with them in mind Pensioners will gain more from free social care than a linking rise of state pension to earnings Proud of triple lock in coalition but we must plan for future not venerate the past
GOOD. Proportional representation which change the UK, and our politics, for the better.
Andy Burnham expected to say he will push ahead with electoral reform plans
Today is Andy Burnham’s first party conference speech as PM. We’ve taken your messages from the mass lobby on tour to Labour conference in Liverpool, with our friends at @transactualuk.bsky.social and @scottishtrans.bsky.social We aren’t going anywhere.
I know there is a hell of a lot going on right now. But not all of it is bad. Some is astonishingly good - like the results of this study from June. Cervical cancer is a terribly cruel thing. This might, at long last, be the beginning of the end of it. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.
Somebody has posted this speech to Facebook. There's over 900 comments under it which call me thing like an 'it', 'tr*nny', 'freak', 'scum', 'deluded', 'sick', plus repeated comments about my appearance and especially my feet for some reason. I hate the internet.
Great to have the chance to speak up for Trans+ rights at #LDConf. #BackBecca #TransRights #LGBT #LibDems
The Labour Party’s women’s conference on 26/9/26 was an embarrassing farce, with only 200 delegates of the 1,000 normal attendance (no major unions) in protest of the Labour Party’s shameful abandonment of trans people following the legally absurd ruling of the Supreme Court in FWS in April 2025.
Men have NO business telling women anything about their bodies or abortion. This woman ATE him up.
I've had a great few days in Brighton for Lib Dem Conference, and as always I've had a busy schedule. There's been a lot of networking and late nights, but I've also been speaking on motions, fringes and roundtables. Bring on York! #LDConf #BackBecca #LibDems #LibDemWomen #WomenInPolitics 1/10
The current Gender Critical group in the Lib Dems is trying to claim that our support for trans equality as a party will tank our support amongst women. But independent polling seems to show our support higher amongst women. Almost like their positions are a lot more popular amongst men....
