This also indicates that plants have a two-geared cytoskeletal mechano-response system, with actin responding quickly (eg drought or infections) and microtubules, rearranging in the course of hours, for slower developmental responses.

Our work on the mechanoresponsiveness of actin is out! While plant microtubules have been extensively studied for their role in mechanobiology, actin has very much been ignored. Here we show that actin responds to cellular deformations within minutes and observed it in Marchantia and Arabidopsis!

Had a fantastic time at @gmivienna.bsky.social - excellent science and a great atmosphere. It was a pleasure to share our work on fungal #EVs and I am very grateful for the recognition from the community. Thanks to everyone involved in organizing such a smooth and enjoyable symposium! #Mendel_ECR_26

The award ceremony was followed by a celebratory dinner at the Rathauskeller at Vienna City Hall, supported by the @wien.gv.at – a fitting close to a stimulating two-day program! #Mendel_ECR_26 #PlantBiology #WhereKnowledgeGrows
