It is great to receive a hard copy of this new book about bisexual Christians in Europe, which I wrote a chapter for! My contribution explores life as a bisexual/queer man, being a priest in the Church of England, married to a (wonderful!) woman, and finding God in all the grey areas and mess!
Today the library received its copy of the eagerly awaited ‘For Nothing is Hidden’ edited by Will Rose-Moore. So pleased to have a chapter in it on punitive stripping as an abuse. Many thanks to @revdwillrm.bsky.social and the great folk at @scmpress.bsky.social

"Church ought to be a place where the world’s expectations are left at the door, whoever we have been told to be by society." Churches should provide alternative narratives of masculinity, argues Will Rose-Moore #Masculinity #Patriarchy
The manosphere: a danger to all
THE status of men and masculinity has been under more investigation than ever during the past decade. There have been ongoing debates about men’s participation in a culture that privileges them, particularly triggered by far too many instances of ...

I have a chapter in this which thinks about the Eucharist, gender and trauma in ways that try to account for the violence at the heart of each.

These last twenty-four hours have been powerful; my first of these Holy Week services as a priest. I have stood where Jesus did. I shared a meal with friends as Jesus did. I washed feet as Jesus did. I watched and waited as Jesus did, as others left one by one. I carried the cross as Jesus did.
So, that’s it. Four years of hard work. Hundreds of books, articles, and chapters read and cited. 72,979 words spread over 250 pages of writing.* That’s right… I have finally submitted my PhD thesis! @westcotthousecam.bsky.social @angliaruskin.bsky.social
