We saw this attempted early on, when Meta tried to create Instagram personas. If they could take all the money currently to creators/influencers/etc, and then juice it by telling the AI to make even more engaging stuff, they'd collect a lot of money in a way that was once impossible.

Seconding this thread. I'm also beyond tired of hearing the distillation complaint, when the timeline doesn't work for Kimi K3. It may have been true at some point, but eventually you've got to get off your cross, acknowledge they seem to be beating you fair and square, and get to work.

If anyone has more insight on how this works, I'd love to read about it. I'd imagine you want behavior on the track to be as predictable as possible, and under the driver's control. At most, I could see some massive AI- and ML-based offline pre-processing, which generates a testable set of values.
John Bull@garius.bsky.social · 2w agothis has been fascinating to watch unfold this season so far. Short version: the new power units (engine + battery) have a bunch of AI stuff. This is meant to optimise power deployment duting races. except it keeps doing weird shit the drivers can't stop/control. And they are NOT happy.
Open source / open access is not ideology: it is the only thing ensuring you have continued access to the tools you need. Insisting on open access is raw pragmatism.

@mu.social Not sure if this is intentional, but the UI is not respecting the "show only to signed-in users" gate when generating a preview. I pasted this link into Signal for a friend group, and it generated a preview correctly. mu.social/profile/mini... The equivalent bsky.app link does not.
