Excellent midfielder. Four years good service. Almost 29 and deserves a big contract and a shot at trophies. Arsenal the best around right now and NUFC's direction unclear. Sour taste at the end, though, so no emotional videos, please, United. Good luck, son. Once again dot com nail the headline.
Off to Haldern Pop today: can’t wait! Say hello if you’re around!
Scuse the clickbait headline which i didn't write, but the iPaper asked for some thoughts on the non-listing of Keshed despite huge public clamour. Actually a piece about diversity in publishing and advocating for small presses. This link sans paywall archive.is/QghKz inews.co.uk/culture/book...
The Booker is a shambles - and everyone in publishing knows it
Plenty thought my novel would make the list – it didn't. Here's why I don't give a toss

Re reading lots of Joy Division stuff “for a thing”, as they say, which in turn reminded me of something my dad once telt me. Dad worked for the GMC for a while in the early 1980s. And once he ended up on the pop at some reception at Granada Studios. As “undad” as it could get.

A Russian drone completely burned down the Holy Protection Church (Sviato-Vvedenska) in Boryslav, Kherson region, built in 1726. The church was an architectural monument of national significance and one of the few surviving examples of Cossack wooden sacral architecture.
And none of them more, of course, than the colonial troops, most of whom were immediately massacred by the Germans even after the armistice.
I will fight and die on the hill that no one fought braver and better in 1940 than the French army in June, knowing that their best troops had already been lost and the Germans would show them little mercy
This is profoundly upsetting
I’ll answer a few. 1. Honestly don’t know: maybe Just William, when I was 8 or so. Probably Maigret novels now. 4. I keep out of bookshops / 5. In junk or charity shops 11. Military history & books on Max Beckmann or C20th British woodcuts. 13. Yes & I wish I didn’t. 19. I tend to avoid what’s hot…

It's true that Tice isn't a big deal (although he is an MP) and that The Telegraph isn't admired for its journalism. We could spend all day minimising it. But it's fair to say if a TD made a remark like this about Britain, it would be a big story and consequences would be expected.
I think we're generally much too chill about how mainstream and normal this weird, obsessive anti-Irish stuff is in the UK. #speirgorm
100%. Farage is a wrecker. That's all he ever does and all he ever will do. He has no answers. Just breaks something else to distract from his total incompetence in any sphere of governance. He's a spiteful toddler in a permanent tantrum.
Of course Farage's 'policy' doesn’t work. It isn't intended to work. It's meant to cause a splash in the unthinking press (and GMB) and thereby get Doris at Number 33 Lambert Road, Peterborough to go 'Ooh at last someone is trying to do something about these awful boat crossings.' That's it.
Honestly, filtering for, "the Nazis were bad, Stalin was bad, the correct side won WWII" is the easiest way to filter out 90+% of bad faith interlocutors if only everyone was honest about their views but the fascists and tankies know this and so sometimes falsify their opinions strategically.
WWII propaganda is good actually
Rod Liddle had a police caution for attacking his pregnant girlfriend. He peddled Rupert Lowe level virulent race hate for the Spectator long before it was fashionable. He wrote about wanting to fuck schoolgirls. To the end he was a bitter, petulant, thin-skinned, needy, angry man. Now he's dead. 🤷🏻♂️
This has been the case for some years tbh. I’m not looking forward to getting back to NL from DE this Sunday…
My initial view of German trains is they aren't just bad, but utterly catastrophic, sweeping cancellations far in excess of any reasonable system, and everyone just shrugging that this is normal. As a symbol of a fading economic giant it is perfect.

Some right bellends here. That “first truly European army” stuff, nit disingenuous at all oh no.

Maybe the *real* pandemic was the america-braining that infected us all to the extent that we're on day...four? five? of UK lockdown discourse, sparked almost entirely by a very dumb US witch hunt against Anthony Fauci.

At the start of 2026 there were two print outlets at Brixton tube. The kiosk inside the station closed in January due to tfl rent rises. Now what was WH Smith’s is going. Yes ‘old man shakes fist at clouds’ vibe. But also it’s sad. Buys sub to @privateeyenews.bsky.social and @thefence.bsky.social
