I was out cutting bracken yesterday, and the parts of the field which were free of it had a liberal sprinkling of bright purple flowers on long stalks. It was the common knapweed - a plant especially loved by bees and butterflies for its abundant nectar. #Photography #Gardening #Wildflowers #Nature

This is King John's Hunting Lodge, which can be found in Axbridge - the 'smallest town in Somerset'. Oddly, it was never either a hunting lodge or anything to do with King John. It's actually a wool merchant's house, built 1460, and is currently a small museum. #Photography #History #Architecture
