Ex Google SWE, neurospicy, + many other things that fuel me to endure, defend, and call out during the US autocracy. Self care is a form of resistance, especially among queer and BIPOCs. People don't want us to exist and yet we do. No LGB without the T

Google Docs annoyance: * You can't choose a footer unless you have the doc in pages. * Docs don't start in Pages; they start in Pageless Solution: always offer footers in "Insert" and then ask user if they want to change to Pages format.

Was in SF this evening while masked and I heard a man's voice from somewhere saying, "Make sure to enjoy the fresh air!" Twice. Didn't know where it was from; wasn't interested in giving them the attention they so desperately sought. Started crossing the street... (1/2)

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.

I've lost a significant amount of weight recently due to health issues. I've never weighed this low since before high school. I'm at a healthy weight but have been experiencing body dysmorphia. That's started to change since I became more dorito shaped due to garden work.

Before Pride weekend ends, sharing my latest for @coyotemedia.org where I visited a new museum in SF Chinatown that’s telling queer Chinese stories while honoring, and reimagining, tradition. 🌈 (Fun fact I learned: Hu Tianbao, or The 🐰 God, is a folk deity who blesses relationships b/w men!)

A Home for Queer Chinese Stories Opens in Chinatown

‘It’s rare to see Chinese LGBT people or to hear their stories.’ Lesbian artist Xiangchi Chen shares the origin story of the OUT Museum in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

Was feeling too femme presenting today so I pulled my hair back in the style of my profile picture. (that's how my gender fluidity works: some days I *am* femme. Some days I'm not. Soapbox to normalize asking one's pronouns)

31 minutes left on the washer. 31 minutes for me to strip the bed and get it ready to be the next wash. 31 minutes for me to put away the current clothes in the basket. 31 minutes to maybe enjoy a bit of my masala chai and coffee (2 separate mugs) and my donut. The crow visitors distracted me...

My eldest saw Benedict Cumberbatch first in Dr. Strange. I would frequently mention how dissonant I found him having an American accent because I saw him first in Sherlock. I recently showed eldest Sherlock. Then a Marvel movie again. Eldest now agrees that Sherlock is his canonical identity. 😁🕵️

People keep saying “we can just fix hallucinated references”. They don’t understand that genAI hallucinates EVERYTHING: data, quotes, figures, you name it. References are just the easiest to catch. Friends don’t let friends write with genAI.

Setting the record straight: crissakentavr bsky social blocked me so I returned in kind. She unblocked, saw I had, then said I was the one that orphaned my thread. It was already isolated the moment she blocked. She also gendered me without asking and should know better as a trans person.

Receipts of being blocked, peeked at, then being blocked again.

Like, Lori blocked me and orphaned her thread."

Nope buddy, you're continuing to lie like you were earlier in the thread because you blocked me first and thus orphaned *your* thread.

You're still talking about the trauma of ICE raids at schools. But many school districts deploy cops *inside* of elementary and middle schools. They brutalize and arrest thousands of Black students a year, and don't decrease crime, but these trauma causing cops do lower Black graduation rates.
