“All they know about Rod is what they’ve read about him. Which is a series of despicable beliefs and actions he proudly reported voluntarily.”

FUZZ FOR THE FUZZ GOD RIFFS FOR THE RIFF THRONE I get mad at the world, paint tiny spacemen and make a heavy metal racket in WARPSTORMER.
Re that poor little girl who died in Scotland in the news rn – is it just me or is reporting this (ie the ill-informed ramblings of some random member of the public) really irresponsible, fear-mongering journalism?
Could some of those questions have been asked many years ago
Absolutely no idea why this could be happening.
NHS staff experiencing 'unconscionable' levels of racist abuse, survey finds
I remember this, it’s John Kay, who drowned his wife then drove head-on into a bridge to plead ‘diminished capacity’. The Sun kept a position open for him while he was committed, then in their obit called him ‘the greatest journalist of his generation’ and ‘everybody's mate’
I remember one time when some journo cunt died (who had literally killed his fucking wife) and all the other journo cunts on twitter started eulogising him like he was a great and lovely man, even when it was pointed out he had killed his wife. Now to check the reaction to Rod Liddle dying
"Death of difficult people" was my mom being a dick to my sister while dying of cancer, she didn't write a fucking Spectator column saying she wanted to look at child pornography and describe it to the readers.
Apologies: I’m not online much, I haven't paid any attention to Rod Liddle for a long time, I didn't really know his extremes. I do now: I wouldn’t have posted if I'd known. I’ve seen death of difficult people up close (and its impact on others): that’s the only reason it was on my mind as an issue.
Some people I know are friends with a Times journo who left one of our shared whatsapp groups when someone posted that Liddle died and a number of people gave a thumbs up.
In an era of libel terrorism, death is the first opportunity to speak ill for many public, influential people.
Not speaking ill of the dead is how Jimmy Saville got something approaching a state funeral.
Literally the only way to stop this happening is to give every single person trying to cross from Calais a free ferry ticket and unconditional asylum.

Incredible shit here: the guy Badenoch is defending was sent to prison for sending racist abuse to the MP Luciana Berger. Who then did a whole series of interviews and columns talking about her criminal harassment by Nazis, in a manner intended to make listeners believe it was done by Labour members
Even I am taken aback at the new and surprising ways these people find to insult the public’s intelligence and make it more clear the only operative professional standard in force is “LOL fuck you”
I recall when an MP was murdered by a Nazi shouting “Britain First!”, we had weeks of molten political/media terror about the abstract concept of divisiveness and social media abuse, because that’s much more conducive to furthering their shared goals, which do not include resisting the far right.
Absolute state of this shit. Yet another example of someone who got their feet under the table and decided class solidarity to their journo pals trumps objecting to eg beating up pregnant women.
Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.
and normal people didn’t enjoy watching a wifebeating bigot get paid to repeatedly write about how much of a paedophile he was in the national press so i guess there's a lesson there for you lol

if I was the president of FIFA I would introduce between 2 and 5 extra footballs. i would also lift the restrictions on chainsaws, pogo sticks, magic attacks, elves, etc. i would then sell the game of football in its entirety to Cyril Sneer in perpetuity.
I choose not to use the occasion of someone’s death to celebrate cause I don’t want to become that kind of person, but if anyone wants to create some kind of hagiography of Liddle, and we know people will, and we probably know who they are, they should expect people to present them with his writing.

If you do something extra to deliberately signal authenticity then that is by definition inauthentic
What on earth is an "anti-grammarly app that leaves in typos" and could you not just...not use an app And in what way does putting in fake "sent from my iPhone" signoffs "create authenticity"? It does the opposite, it creates more fakery and undermines authenticity
Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...
