I'll be @gamescomdev.bsky.social & gamescom this year again. 😊 ℹ️ I'm branching out as freelancer as of now! 🌟 Come talk to me if you are in need of a 🎲 game producer with extensive experience in the management of small and mid-sized teams and/or 📜 historical advisor.

Screenshot from a development build of the game "13 Rosas" showing a room decorated with arches and illuminated by a single lamp at the center of the wall. In front of the wall sits an alter with a bouquet of red roses on it.
On the bottom of the image a black banner holds both the logos of the events "gamescom dev" and "gamescom".
A pink tag across the image reads "I'll be there" referring to the posters presence at both conferences.

In case you were wondering what the hell I was doing between 2020 and 2023. The game grew tremendously since I left Limbic. Congratulations to the Corsair Cove Team! I can see your hard work and dedication to the project 🎉 👏 💕 (and also maybe some leftovers of my work too 🤭)

We are thrilled to welcome @limbicgames.bsky.social to our stable! We're working with them on their new game, Corsair Cove. This pirate-themed city builder lets you create a sprawling island haven, explore the high seas, & take on the Crown. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1368140/Corsair_Cove/

After my recent podcast appearance at @stayforever.de where I talked about the optimization of RollerCoaster Tycoon, I finally found some time to also write an article: larstofus.com/2026/03/22/t... If you know German I'd still recommend the podcast, which also dives deep into the rest of the game 🎧

The gold standard of optimization: A look under the hood of RollerCoaster Tycoon

Due to some lucky circumstances, I recently had the chance to appear in one of the biggest German gaming podcasts, Stay Forever, to talk about the technology of RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999). It was …

As you use AI to simplify easy yet mundane tasks, like writing emails, you get increasingly dependent on it. You get lazy, less skilled, use your brain less, and (you may not want to hear this) get stupider as a result. Don’t let them take away your ability to think. Stop using it. Now.

The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever. It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.

The text in the Tweet says:

Due to recent discussions: when I worked at a library, I was trained on how to politely but directly respond to unwanted sexual comments. Unfortunately commonly-marketed fantasies about librarians mean it happens a lot. Rehearse these. Be comfortable saying them forcefully, but politely.

Cordial but Firm Anti-Creep Phrases

”This is a [professional space] and I’d really appreciate it if you’d act accordingly.”

“I’m not interested in discussing my personal life.” AND/OR “I keep my personal and professional life separate, thanks.”

“I really don’t think that’s appropriate behavior/to say at a [professional conference]. Is there something else we can discuss?” OR phrase it as a rhetorical question: “Do you think that’s an appropriate thing to do/say at a [professional conference]?”

“That is not what I’m here for. Let’s change the subject.”
