I'm actually kind of weirdly curious about this. Searching around, it seems like other people had similar experiences with The Odyssey's audio mixing being. For reference: I saw The Odyssey with my mom and we had both also seen Oppenheimer, and neither of us remember any similar audio issues.

About the only issue I really have is in the audio department. While the sound design is certainly detailed and we get another too-notch score from Ludwig Göransson, the sound mix itself (at least the screening I went to) was bizarrely loud, like almost deafeningly so.

Youtubers and tiktokers need to invest in proper off-screen microphone setups because it's always funny whenever you need to emphasize a bizarre/ridiculous point about a given topic by suddenly pulling the microphone into frame.

Ngl, it's kind of wild seeing that sex Purge movie seemingly turn into *the* cinematic punching bag of the year. Figured it woulda been that Nate Bargatze househusband thing. Like I remember seeing the trailer in front of Backrooms and going "🤷‍♂️ looks kinda dumb" and thinking nothing more.

Got a solidly varied episode this week: some banger tracks to discuss, some not-so-good ones, my discomfort at Ozzy Osbourne's HHN house, and me trying to process how much Dexter revival stuff there actually is. Also I get some digs in at that terrible new MGK song.

A few stray observations: 1. I'm amazed the script allowed that one joke about horny fan art of "spidey and the ten mysterios." 2. There's a scene where Peter watches a spider documentary narrated by Keith David (insert Hazbin joke here). 3. Wasn't expecting Steve Lacy over the end credits. Neat!

Square Enix says art for Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3 didn’t use AI

One thing that didn't go over well was the new art for Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3 which had a number of mistakes in it and was quickly set upon by social media users as utilising AI. Fast forward to today and Square Enix was contacted about this very topic. The company said that no AI was used in the creation of the image and that it was simply the result of human error.

This is the kind of album where its best moment is an admittedly great guest spot from Corey Taylor in a song about internet haters, and the standard version closes on a cover of "Sunglasses At Night." And not like one of those bad "Punk Goes Pop" sorta covers, it's just a basic cover song.

July 25th. #albumaday2026. Motionless in White- Decades // Y'know given some of the stuff I've subjected myself to recently, it's nice to have an album that's just bad in a lot of basic predictable sorta was; 2020s metalcore tinged with cringe nu-metal leftovers and basic techno/dubstep/synthwave.
