This sure is a...choice, for several reasons. 1) It was built by the city of Appleton at the height of the early 90s prison boom as a economic booster. It was sold to CoreCivic in 1997. It was not built for its practicality; it was built to be provide jobs for the very small, rural town.

Located about 3 hours west of Minneapolis, the Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, MN has been named as a potential ICE detention center. The private prison with 1,600 beds has been closed since 2010.

Not everyone has been a fan of the official Minnesota flag since its redesign and adoption. At least 16 cities have voted to fly the old flag. Of those, 13 cities made that call since the start of this year. Why has the debate around the flag skyrocketed this year? There isn’t one clear reason.

when there's a new weird virus outbreak it sure would be nice to not have to see what other countries' health agencies are saying because you can't trust your own govt's health agency.

Games like this (par for the course with MN sports teams) may be one contributing factor for high rates of hypertension in MN.
