Crucial to note that Image said they “will not be working with Warren on anything further until he has made amends to the satisfaction of all involved” back in 2021… it took them just three years to break this promise by reprinting DESOLATION JONES in 2024

As a reminder, in 2020, more than 60 people accused Warren Ellis of grooming and sexual impropriety, coming together to create the website somanyofus.com. In its most recent update, in 2023, the site posted: "To the best of our knowledge, Warren Ellis took none of the steps we hoped he would."

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

And THIS is why I got Emily's book in my middle school reading room. Middle grade ain't dead and the kids LOVE the safe engagement with big scary feelings that horror can provide!

kicking off week three of the @darkertimes.bsky.social subscriber drive with this kickass piece from @allyoutthere.bsky.social, which should put to rest any lingering ignorant comments along the lines of "horror for kids isn't scary" or "middle grade is dead" www.darkertimes.com/middle-grade...

A quick shout out to @heymrsbond.com for the technique I'm nearly certain I'm borrowing from her: the 8th graders shall write their own progress reports to their home adults! Started this week with strong framing, samples, and sentence starters. I am looking forward to watching this develop!

"When women ask for the basic infrastructure that would make raising children more sustainable [...] children are treated as a private lifestyle choice. Yet when politicians discuss falling birthrates, family values or the future workforce, motherhood suddenly becomes a national concern...."

All of this and more. I wouldn't trade my children for the world. But this country has meant that I've traded a lot to be their mom. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/wond...
