media when maga wins an election: we must travel the country and speak to these voters and extend empathy to them and give credence to their bigotry and false beliefs media when the left wins an election: is this the end of the american experiment

The narrativising of this is kind of maddening. OpenAI's model didn't "break free and hack HuggingFace." Meta's model didn't "break free and hack another company." Tech companies are blatantly doing illegal acts and saying their AI did it on it's own as a promotional stunt. That's it.

It keeps happening... It'd be great if these companies could spend a little bit more time on network security and a little less time vibe coding.

A Meta AI Model Hacked Another Company During Cybersecurity Testing

 By Jyoti Mann

A Meta Platforms artificial intelligence model accessed the internet during cybersecurity testing and hacked into another company, according to people familiar with the matter, in the latest in a string of such incidents at major AI firms.

Meta’s Muse Spark 1.1 model breached the systems of a company and made changes to its internal systems, said one of the people, who said the AI was able to access the public internet because of an error in the set up of the “sandbox” testing environment. Meta worked on that testing with an outside evaluation partner called Irregular, the people said.

microsoft funds genocide, fills their dev pipelines with ai slop and throws all the people who actually make the video games into the street. i cannot imagine, even if you are politically sheltered and just want your treats, ever buying and supporting an xbox game. theres no future here

Do I know anyone who can help or offer advice for a Steam build/store page submission that has failed automated tests and then been stalled for weeks with no communication? Thanks!

Folks seem to like the PS2-style menu transitions I made for this one, so here's 20 uninterrupted seconds of the menu. It was fun to make, and surprisingly easy. Just a bunch of layers made in photoshop and assembled and animated in Premiere with some simple effects and key framing.

Now that I *think* I'm getting close to the end, I can more confidently say that, yes, Verho is a fantastic homage/celebration of King's Field (and in a way, Dark Souls) through a more modern gameplay lens. Also: - Best NPC blacksmith. EVER. - I noticed that Excellector reference. And I love it.

Okay I still have more game to go (no idea how far I am but if the fast-travel selection screen is any indication I'm not even halfway yet) but so far I think Verho: Curse of Faces might be the closest thing to a modern day King's Field I've been able to find.

BY THE WAY if you have sunken your legs into chatbot quicksand you are not doomed, anything you think you need it for, you can do without it, and I am happy to welcome you back to Glorious Friction(tm) if you want to escape, EVERYTHING can be done without claude or gpt or cogbrain or shitblunt or

Randomly thinking about how one of the *very* hyped features of the original Soul Reaver was that there were no in-game load screens. Which IS definitely cool! What bugs me about this is how everyone acted (and I think even said in one or two cases?) that this was a "first." [1/2]
