It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough

Corporate spending on elections has already topped $500 million this year. That's one third of the $1.58 billion in total that corporations have spent since Citizens United in 2010. Hawaii and Montana both have plans to neutralize this disastrous SCOTUS ruling. Other states must get on board.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

need to start thinking now about a full package of judicial reforms: new justices, new circuits, new district courts, ethics reforms, docket reforms, and transparency reforms.

Frankly, I want to divest SCOTUS of jurisdiction to enter *any* orders reversing a lower court without a complete elaboration of the reasons why. They are the least busy judges in America with a self-selected workload. If they can't bother to explain it, they should not do it.

The actual problem is 1) Democrats have popular policies but the country never hears about them due to right-wing propaganda; 2) Democrats constantly blame themselves and their base for this —a message right-wing media amplifies, making the problem even worse.

Obama: "What I'm more interested in for Democrats is, do you know how to just talk to regular people like we're not in a college seminar? Can you talk in plain English to folks? And not have a bunch of gobbledygook around it. Just talk like normal people talk. 'The rent is too high.'"

Yes. Very similar to plans for education, the GOP vision for healthcare is three tiers: The rich still enjoy science-based medicine, but privatized and exclusive Middle class gets woo and psuedoscience Poor get nothing - denial of medical care to them serves as a means to discipline the middle.

MAGA wants to reduce opportunities for women and increase opportunities for quacks. Chiropractors, a male-dominated woo-saturated field, still qualify, while female-dominated evidence-based professions are shut out.

We have a year’s worth of economic data since Liberation Day, when President Trump announced much higher tariffs on most imported goods and countries, and the data are definitive; the tariffs have done significant damage to the economy.

WATCH: The DOJ quietly closed 23,000+ criminal cases in the first six months of the second Trump administration, abandoning hundreds of investigations into terrorism, white-collar crime, drugs and other offenses as it shifted resources to pursue immigration cases. Full story: propub.li/4tHp2Wd

I'm rewatching the Chernobyl series on HBO, and the opening voiceover from Legasov resonates: "What is the cost of lies? It's not that we'll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all."

The redistricting scheme was always a power grab by Democrats. Voters went along with it."

Ossoff: "You were talking earlier about Jared Kushner. The guy leading our diplomacy in the Middle East is bringing in billions from Middle Eastern princes and sheiks and going around the region asking for billions more while he conducts nuclear diplomacy on behalf of the country. It's obscene."

A quick historical context for the whole "WEAK on Crime" thing. Ever since the 1960s, conservatives and moderates have always been able to paint their opponents as weak on crime by simply saying it. Voters always buy it. Journalists cover it as true. He's simply doing what always works.

Can’t believe this week began with the president of the US saying ‘the Pope is weak on crime’ And it’s only Tuesday
