When disabled people/many people who work on disability/health pointed to the dangers of this kind of framing since COVID, they were usually mocked ("oh you think everything is eugenics") or ignored. But normalising the idea that the deaths of disabled people are desirable/reassuring is dangerous.

Breaking News: Two deaths in Michigan have been linked to cyclospora. Both people who had the parasite also had underlying health issues.

so I just want to emphasize something here that non-media people might not pick up on: Marisa is an independent journalist and is taking on the risk of being sued by Moraff here without any institutional backing. That's admirable bravery - and also means being very, very certain of the facts.

Exclusive from me — Daniel Moraff, one of the political operatives behind Graham Platner's rise and fall, has been accused of sexual assault. Full story here:

The story of a trans girl who tried to fight Idaho's anti-trans laws, and died to suicide earlier this year, is only now coming to light. Our hearts are broken, but we need to tell these stories and mourn our dead, because the media is barely bothering to look for the victims of trans genocide.

Gluesenkamp Perez: "At town halls, what I saw was the people who were the most upset had spent the last 12 years driving their girls to sports practice & they view their best shot of their student going to college as an athletic scholarship. So when we rush to moralize we miss some of the nuance."

people mention SSRIs a lot when it comes to your wellness in hot conditions, but lithium and antipsychotics are even more dangerous (and psychosis can impact your ability to clock your own thermal signals on its own, so please check on your loved ones with schizophrenia and bipolar too)!

If you are trans and are raising money for your own needs, post the link below and I will share. If you are cis, choose one to donate to and share this thread.

Once, while on tour in Manchester, England, three trans women burst out crying as I spoke. Turns out, due to EHRC, they had just been kicked off their local soccer team, a club in which no one won anything except for new friends, and from which no one wanted them to leave.
