EA's willingness to abandon a genre they were once functionally the sole owners of because a single misguided release flopped is stunning in every respect. They've always been poor stewards - see also Ultima - but this one was Esp baffling because until skylines came along they had zero competition
The source of my "second favorite piece of stock footage," Birds over NY 1976, has been identified! Thanks to Practical_Cold_71, who ID'd it as from "Watching My Name Go By," a BBC documentary about graffiti (and is full of absolutely gorgeous shots of New York)
