I now fervently believe this. Relatedly, I think celebrating good news and embracing joy are equally radical. You have to remember what you’re fighting for. We cannot sustainably organize around sorrow.

Supergirl was excellent! I can see from reading reviews that several didn’t understand the feminist work the film does around grief, anger, and violence, including the trauma of women & girl refugees & the heart wrenching choices the parents of refugee children have to make. It’s worth supporting.
I’m not a football follower but there have been many unexpected positives about the World Cup, even I have been swept up and relieved. Fans from across the world being welcomed in America and getting to know each other has been heartwarming. This highlights the other distressing side of the event

God, reading about UK politics is depressing. There is a massive, coordinated media attack on Net Zero, led by the RW press (& accelerated by Musk's X). It is *wildly* out of sync with public opinion, but it is slowly working, convincing even labour MPs that the public is more right than it is.
