Looking for sanity during Trump 2.0. Detroit suburbs. rsmwriter@blogspot.com

Whoever ends up winning the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan, I hope with little expectation that those who took seriously polls showing a rout for El-Sayed will think twice about relying on questionable and/or partisan polls.

Tonight, ahead of tomorrow’s primary, our last spotlight is on Southern Oakland County, which has been my base for so many years. My longest and most loyal supporters have carried me through many elections and we’re about to do it one more time!

There's a difference between protesting and a bullying effort to silence. If you can't respect the difference, you don't believe in pluralism, and further, you want authoritarianism. I don't want Dictator Anybody, much less Dictator Abdul.

Jeremy Moss was my state senator before Michigan redistricting in 2021, and I've voted for him in the #MI-11 House Dem primary this year. He's an outstanding public official. I've heard nothing about this Faroooi person until a few days ago, and after this I don't want to hear anything more. Vile.

This is what the online left, who support El-Sayed, have been doing to Stevens, McMorrow, and their supporters for the last 16 months. They (and many, like here, are not from Michigan) turn every forum, online and in-person, into a toxic platform for bullying and abuse. www.wcmu.org/local-region...

More evidence why Stevens supporters shouldn't Chicken Little the Emerson poll that dropped today. Michigan primary elections are notorious for embarrassing pollsters. They almost never figure out the proper sample. Results like this definitely point to a bad one here. www.wlns.com/news/politic...

This kind of violent, demonizing language is one reason why I don't want Abdul El-Sayed anywhere near public office. He believes in authoritarianism, not pluralism, and one gets one's way through threats and bullying rather than persuasion. He's not much different than Trump.

I am absolutely thrilled to have Gov Gretchen Whitmer’s endorsement for U.S. Senate. She is a champion for our state, she understands the stakes of this race and why it’s so important we elect the strongest Dem in this primary, and she gets stuff done for Michigan. Let’s go win!

That's nice. So if the Dems get a House majority again, AOC can finally demonstrate that she can pass a bill out of committee? - During AOC's first four years in Congress, as part of a Dem majority, Omar, Tlaib, and Pressley could do it, but AOC couldn't.

AOC: I believe in guaranteeing health care to every American. I believe in raising the minimum wage. I believe in strong unions. And so, yeah, if a Republican wants to call a stronger union communist, they’re more than welcome to do that. I’m not going to be deterred.
