The War on Terror began 25 years ago today, when Congress passed the post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force. Only one member of Congress had the courage and foresight to oppose this blank check for forever wars: Barbara Lee.

This seems like a seriously terrible and dangerous idea, that wouldn’t work except to endanger yourself. At the same time, having supposed law enforcement officers refusing to wear uniforms or badges is an even more terrible and dangerous idea. And is endangering all of us.

Apparently people are sharing this far and wide on social media, which I think is horrible. This could cripple ICE operations. PLEASE do not share this.

And you shouldn’t have to do the same thing every time you visit the same web site or different web sites for that matter. They’re playing the odds and waiting for you to mess up.

The State Department said ​it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars. Even if those cars are electric. And then there’s all the parking. OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money, emissions, pollution, noise etc. Choices. Simple.

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

I just want to say, while we’re on the subject: ALL of our youth sports, in one way or another, are too expensive & have too high of a barriers of entry - not just soccer. + we should reform our youth sports not with the goal to win a mWC, but with the goal to provide opps to play for all kids
