Surely the solution here is just *don't use AI tools* for your writing and research and continue to do your writing and research in ALL the ways you were doing it before you started using AI instead of doing the work??

Just received email spam from an outfit called Academic Humanizer that uses AI to rewrite your AI-written manuscript so people can't tell that it was written using AI. I don't understand why academics don't trust Silicon Valley to solve any problems it inadvertently creates along the way.

Dwindling reservoirs aren't the result of "bad weather" or "natural cycles". They're a choice our society made. Growing thirsty crops like alfalfa and pecans in the desert is a choice. Refusing to reduce CO2 emissions is a choice. Refusing to change the water laws as reality changes is a choice.

Hard to overstate how much of the "iconoclastic free-thinkers" who the White House thinks be given most of the nation's research money are mostly mediocre rich people who resent their supposed inferiors' successes. A lot of it is just elitism, an aristocracy clawing for its status back.

The whole dire wolf thing was borderline fraud. And of course the point of all this bollocks is that all these accelerationists, longtermists, EAs, and their GOP allies have been salivating over an excuse to destroy the environment now on the grounds that later generations can recover it.
